Alton is pinstripe artist. He's worked on everything from world class racing machines like the Norton Gulf Streamliner and the Blue Max Funny car to friends gas tanks and helmets. With steady hands that would rival any surgeon, Alton creates one of a kind pieces of art. Not only is he a world renowned pinstripe artist he is also a great story teller. When I first met him, in less than five minutes he was telling me about the time he got locked in a shop for days and slept in the racing bike there just to say he's slept in a motorcycle. Great work takes time and Alton is no exception. The wait is well worth it and watching him "slop on the paint" as he says was a fantastic experience and one you'll be hard pressed to find these days. New Spring Photography
Here's a shoot inspired by the light airy and cool breezes of spring. Crisp white and sharp black keep this story fresh. More on my website! www.jamesbueti.com
The Desert
What do you do with down time in Phoenix? You hike some of the many trails that seem to go from urban to wilderness almost immediately.
Venice
The city on the water, slowly sinking and flooding. I got a clear dry day for wandering, people watching, street food and gelato.
Kidd Kraddick Dream Winner Cassidy Phan
Cassidy Phan won the Kidd Kraddick show's I have a dream contest and had The Container Store come in and reorganize space in her home. The Container Store hired me to shoot after their designers went through and installed their products. This is an amazing win anyone would be thrilled with! Having talked to Cassidy I can tell she's so happy with the results. On a side note The Container Store has stuff I've never knew I needed and I've taken mental note on what I can to do to be more organized. What a great experience! Look for it on the Kidd Kraddick website http://www.kiddnation.com/i-have-a-dream-to-declutter-pics/ and on the Container Store website http://www.containerstore.com/blog/
Head Hand Feet with Brian Paul
Brian Paul is a luthier, a word I didn't know until I started researching this shoot. A luthier is someone who builds and repairs string instruments and in this case Brian builds and repairs guitars. Not only that but he'll teach you how to build your own custom guitar. Check out his site http://www.brianpaulguitars.com/ and build your own axe.
San Francisco
Recently I did some work in San Francisco and got to explore while scouting. The City might be my new favorite place to visit and work with it's mysterious yet stunning fog, melting pot of friendly locals and awesomely eclectic neighborhoods. Here are some street photos I snapped along the way. For the record I'm not much of a coffee drinker but I can't resist watching the fresh roasting and cool vibe of Four Barrel with a latte. Check my website for some of the fashion shots I did in this great city.
Spring Equinox
In honor of the Spring Equinox (when the day and the night are almost exactly the same length) here are some surreal celestial looking light paintings I've been working on.
Walking Chinatown
San Francisco's Chinatown, what a fun and vibrant neighborhood! I loved exploring it while scouting for this editorial. For the shoot we played off the colors and lights in one of the busiest parts of the city. Next time you're here I recommend getting off the main streets and walk down the bustling alleys where you'll find everything from fresh groceries, amazing dim sum and even a fortune cookie factory.
Dallas Buildings
So the other day I got my hands on a digital back to test. Rather than mess around in studio I decided to take a walk around town and shoot downtown Dallas.
