Believe it or not it was 50° this beachy day. I think the crew and I did a great job of faking the warm and sunny vibe.
Independance day
Misty Independence Day at the golden gate. Happy Fourth everyone, here are some fireworks shots from last nights show with the Bay Bridge in the background.
Taste the Rainbow
Wow! I used to think I've had fresh fruit and veggies, that was before I visited my first California farmers market. I'm starting a love affair with the citrus here.
Fishing in Alaska
Summer in Petersburg Alaska brings long days and the start of another salmon season. I spent some time on two boats (Siren and Cinnamon Girl) as the captains and crew prep the fishing vessels for the labor intensive season and wrap up unloading a haul of halibut and rockfish. Thanks to Captain Mike and Captain Chris for taking me out and even letting us pull a crab pot or two for dinner. Amazing!
Tip Your Red Knit Hats
Happy Birthday Jacques Cousteau! Your explorations have always been an inspiration and you will forever be missed. Here's my attempt at underwater photography using my iPhone on various scuba trips.
750cc's of Love
Years ago I met some people who changed my life. Some call them hooligans and that's true as they're responsible for introducing me to motorcycles. Not just any kind of motorcycle but classic British bikes. Triumph, Norton, BSA... all beautiful, alluring and fascinating machines. I was inducted into the group with the purchase of a 1978 Triumph Bonnevile 750cc T140. That bike has soul and teeth rattling personality. I'll now ride until I can't physically get on a bike and do it anymore. I love the wind in my hair, sun on your skin, the gliding swooping control and the view of pavement rushing by mile after mile. I escorted this beautiful lady to the Arizona desert at dawn recently and had my camera with me. I hope you enjoy this motorcycle porn as much as I do.
Arenal, Costa Rica
Costa Rica is one of my favorite places on the planet. You can hike near a volcano in lush cloud forests, dip a toe in hot springs, zip line the tree tops with monkeys, scuba dive or just lay on the pristine beaches of Manuel Antonio. It's beautiful here and that's just the west coast.
Sutro Tower
Some associate it as part of the iconic San Francisco skyline, some call it an eye sore. Whatever it is to you it's hard to ignore Sutro tower while because it's designed to be seen from everywhere. To me it's beautiful and different from every angle especially when the fog, clouds and sun dance around it. Check out some shots from my last trip to beautiful San Francisco.
Head For The Hills
Texas ranch roads 335, 336, 337 also know as the three sisters are three chip seal roads weaving across part of Texas hill country. These out of the way cheese grater roads (west of San Antonio) offer some of the best motorcycle riding in the State. Pro tips; stay in a town close like Leakey which sits right on 377, go in the spring to see the roads lined with colorful wildflowers, get on the roads early, on a weekday to avoid the droves of harley riders. Hold on, enjoy the ride and when the road signs say 15mph they mean 15mph!!
National Chocolate Chip Day
Today is National Chocolate Chip Day. Put those little guys in some cookies or brownies and make everyone happy! Here are some shots I did from a cookie book highlighting those tasty guys.
